I just love the idea of using your full imagination and creating a new person, when it comes to acting. I get to analyze the scripts, by planning both your character’s inner life and actions. You get to develop their voice, how they walk, talk and move. It lets me create and develop a truthful, complex plan for any of my characters that I play within any of my performances in screen work or even a stage production.

"Growing I always knew I wanted to be part of the performing arts, but opportunities were few and far between. While we didn't have drama as a subject in High School, I was lucky enough to have a teacher from a little "dead actors society" and began competing in ATKV Tienertoneelfees competitions. That's really where my passion for the craft grew exponentially. I have been involved in a few theatre productions up until now, but thanks to AFDA I get to broaden my horizons through film. Every day I feel grateful that I can be part of such an interesting career path, I mean, we're basically kids playing "pretend" in the backyard and telling stories, and we get to make a livelihood out of it.

Ipeleng Derby-Molefe
As a child, I was always very expressive and loved entertaining my family and creating worlds and stories in my mind for me to stay in whenever I wanted to run away. I hope that as a filmmaker, I can create world for others who may need an escape from reality, or to showcase the uniqueness of life. For the past 21 years, I've been figuring out how to share my stage, and I do hope to continue to learn and get better.
Producer
Reynard Lotteriet
Director and Writer
Reynard Lotteriet was born in Cape Town and lived most of his adolescent life in a small somewhat rural town in the Western Cape. His passion for motion picture started at the age of 7, where he would build tiny sets and acted out stories inspired by the films and television shows he watched with toys. As he grew older he would write stories and draw comic books. As he entered high school, he turned his attention to live action film making, where he would make several poorly made short films.
After completing High School he studied a degree in business. During which he worked on novels and contemplated whether or not to maintain his pursuit in film making, or mainly focus as a writer. However, after re-watching films which inspired and motivated him, his goal to be a film maker was reaffirmed. He decided to study at AFDA in order to improve his skills as a film maker. After completing his course at AFDA, he hops to work in the industry and work on films & television programs which inspire, motivate, and entertain.
